Sunny Enterprise
Hisaab Kitaab Privacy Policy
Effective date: 10 October 2026
- Hisaab Kitaab has no accounts and no cloud database of ours. We do not sell your data.
- Your customers, suppliers, bills, stock and cashbook are stored on your phone only. We cannot see them.
- Backup is optional and goes to a private folder in your own Google Drive, or to a file you save yourself. You can protect it with a password that only you know.
- The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob, which may collect certain data as described below.
Who we are
Hisaab Kitaab: Khata, Billing and Stock (“the app”) is an Android app for keeping a khata (credit and debit ledger), making GST and non-GST bills, managing stock and a cashbook, and viewing reports. It is published by Sunny Enterprise (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app.
Information stored on your device
Everything you enter is saved in a database inside the app on your phone: business details, customers and suppliers (names, phone numbers, addresses, GSTIN), ledger entries, bills and invoices, items and stock, cashbook entries, reminders, bill photos and your settings. This information is never sent to us or to any server we run. We cannot see it.
You can delete it at any time inside the app (including the “delete all” option), by clearing the app’s storage, or by uninstalling the app. If you uninstall the app without a backup, the data cannot be recovered by us.
Backup and restore
We do not run cloud storage for your data. You can back up in two ways, both under your control:
- Backup file: the app creates a file that you can save or share anywhere you like (for example on your phone or in any app you choose). You can restore from this file on a new phone.
- Google Drive backup (optional): if you sign in with your Google account, the app saves your backup in the hidden app-data folder of your own Google Drive. The app can only see files that it created itself, not the rest of your Drive. The backup is stored in your Google account, not with us.
You can set a backup password. The backup is then encrypted on your phone (AES-256) before it leaves the device, so even Google cannot read it. The password is kept in your phone’s secure storage and is never sent to us. If you forget the password, the encrypted backup cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
You can delete your Drive backups from inside the app, or from your Google account’s Drive settings. Drive storage is handled by Google under its own policies.
Permissions
- Internet: used to load ads, to complete a purchase through Google Play, and for the optional Google Drive backup.
- Camera: used only when you scan a barcode or take a photo of a bill. Photos stay on your phone (and in your own backup if you make one).
- Microphone: used only when you tap the voice entry button to speak an entry. Speech is converted to text by your phone’s speech recognition service, which is provided by the device maker or Google under their own policies.
- Contacts: used only if you choose to import a customer or supplier from your phone contacts. Contacts are not uploaded anywhere.
- Notifications and run at startup: used to show the payment reminders you set, and so that your reminders continue after you restart your phone. Reminders are created on your phone and do not involve any server.
- Bluetooth: used only to find and print to your Bluetooth thermal printer.
- Biometric / screen lock: used only to unlock the app if you turn on app lock. The PIN or pattern you set is stored on your phone as a one-way hash.
- Google Play Billing: used for the optional “Remove ads” purchase.
The app does not ask for access to your location, your photo gallery or your files, other than files you pick yourself for restoring a backup.
Collecting payments (UPI)
The app can show a UPI QR code and create a payment link for a customer. The app does not process payments, does not see whether a payment succeeded, and never receives your customer’s bank or card details. The payment is made in the customer’s own UPI app.
The payment link opens a simple web page that shows the payee name, UPI ID, amount and note. These details are placed in the part of the link after the “#” sign, which browsers do not send to any server, so our website does not receive or log them.
Advertising
The free version of Hisaab Kitaab is supported by ads provided by Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). AdMob may collect and use data such as your device’s advertising ID, IP address, approximate location, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Google uses this to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. Your ledger, bill, stock and customer data is not shared with AdMob. This data is handled by Google under its own policies:
Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before ads are requested, using Google’s consent message.
You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalisation in your Android settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads).
Purchases
The optional one-time “Remove ads” purchase is handled by Google Play. We receive only confirmation that the purchase was made. We never see your card or payment details. You can restore the purchase in the app on the same Google account.
What we do not do
- We do not ask you to create an account with us.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not collect your business data, your customers’ details or your bills.
- We do not collect or track your location.
- We do not store your data or backups on our servers.
Services that process data for the app
- Google (AdMob advertising, Google Play, Google Drive backup if you use it)
These providers have their own privacy policies, which apply to the data they handle.
Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your phone until you delete it, clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app. Backups stay in the place you saved them (your own Drive or your own file) until you delete them. We do not hold a copy of any of it. Deleted entries first go to a Trash inside the app and are removed for good after 30 days or when you empty the Trash.
Your choices and rights
You control your data: you can export it, back it up, restore it, and delete it inside the app. You can turn reminders, app lock and screen protection on or off at any time. Because we do not hold your data, there is usually nothing further for us to delete, but you can contact us about any privacy question or request.
Depending on where you live (for example India, the EU or the UK), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, and to complain to your data protection authority.
If you keep records about your own customers and suppliers in the app, you are responsible for using that information lawfully.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us.
Accuracy of calculations
GST rates, tax amounts and reports are calculated from the values you enter. Please check rates and totals, and confirm with your accountant before filing returns or issuing important documents.
Security
Your data is stored in the app’s private storage on your phone. You can protect the app with a PIN, pattern or fingerprint, hide it from the recent-apps screen and block screenshots, and encrypt your backups with a password. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your phone and your backup password safe.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and publish the new version on this page.
